XC Timer

Privacy policy

Effective October 8, 2026

XC Timer keeps everything on your iPhone. We don’t collect, receive or store any of your information.

What the app stores

To time races, XC Timer stores what you enter or record in it:

All of this stays in the app on your iPhone. It is included in your phone’s regular backups (iCloud or computer), according to your own backup settings.

What we collect

Nothing. XC Timer has no accounts, doesn’t connect to the internet, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. We never see your meets, times or runner names.

Sharing results

Results leave your phone only when you share them. You create a spreadsheet or PDF and choose where it goes, using AirDrop, Messages, Mail or another app on your phone. You choose how runners appear (full name, first name and last initial, or bib number only) and whether to include team and grade. PDFs can be locked with a password. Once shared, a file is handled by the app or person you sent it to.

Lock screen

While a race is running, the lock screen and Dynamic Island show the race and meet names, the race clock and how many runners have finished. Runner names are never shown there.

Children’s information

XC Timer is meant for race organizers, coaches and volunteers. Runners may be children, and their names are entered by the organizer. That information stays on the organizer’s phone and is never sent to us.

Deleting your data

Delete a meet in the app to remove it and everything in it. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your phone. Copies in backups or in files you’ve shared are managed by you.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
